Understanding the Recurring Rate Updater Feature in Deskworks

The Recurring Rate Updater is a powerful Pro Plan feature designed to simplify how you manage price adjustments for your recurring billings. Whether you want to automate annual increases across your entire operation or customize price changes for individual customers, this feature gives you the flexibility to do both.

How It Works:

The Recurring Rate Updater allows you to set automatic price increases based on two key dates:

  1. Plan Anniversary: This triggers the price increase exactly one year after the set Start Date of each Recurring Billing.

  2. Renewal Date: This applies the increase on the set Renewal Date of each Recurring Billing.

This feature operates globally, meaning once it's enabled, it will apply to all recurring billings within your operation. However, you can easily override the global settings for individual customers or specific recurring billings.

Example:

Imagine you’ve set a global increase of 5% on the plan anniversary. This means that every customer’s recurring billing will automatically increase by 5% on their specified start date. However, if you have a long-term client like Joe Smith who you want to keep at the same rate, you can set his individual price increase to 0%. This ensures his billing amount stays consistent while other customers experience the annual increase.

Customization Options:

  • Global Increases: Apply a standard percentage increase to all recurring billings.

  • Individual Overrides: Adjust or eliminate the increase for specific members by setting their Price Increase Override to a different percentage or a fixed dollar amount.

  • Individual Increases: Set the Global Increase to 0%, and use the Price Increase Override to automate increases on a per recurring billing basis.
