How do I transfer my credit card data?

Transferring your credit card data to the Spreedly Vault

Deskworks provides a PCI compliant vault for your credit cards at no cost to you through Spreedly.com, a highly-secure, never-been-hacked site. They are set up to work with over 100 different online gateways, so if you have one you like, you can stay with it. If you don't at any time, it's easy to make a change.

To migrate the data for use in Deskworks, you only need to ask your current provider to prepare a secure transfer file of your credit cards. They will typically upload to a secure FTP site (SFTP). When that's done, we'll have Spreedly download the file into the Credit Card Vault environment that we create for you in Spreedly. We will then verify that current members with automatic payments are correctly mapped to the downloaded payment methods.

Authorize.net

  • Open a ticket with Authorize.net and let them know you would like to transfer your credit card data to another PCI compliant vault. They will try to charge you, but let them know you will continue to use their gateway services and request a no-charge transfer.
  • Once completed, be sure you decline their 3 extra services: recurring billing, fraud protection, and credit card vault.
  • Suggested wording for requesting the transfer is below. Copy the ticket to support@spreedly.com and support@mydeskworks.com, and we will follow up.

Stripe

  • Open a ticket with Stripe and ask them to transfer your credit card data to Spreedly. Stripe is very good about this — simple and no charge or fuss. They will upload the file to their SFTP site. Notify us when that's done.
  • We will have Spreedly download the file to your secure credit card vault environment.
  • Suggested wording for requesting the transfer is below. Copy the ticket to support@spreedly.com and support@mydeskworks.com, and we will follow up.

Here's the recommended email to send to your current vendor:

Hello Support,

I would like to securely export all my payment methods to Spreedly, a PCI level 1 payment vault. You can find their AOC and latest scan here: https://spreedly.com/pci

If you have an existing process to transfer secure data (like an SFTP server), Spreedly will use this - please send credentials encrypted with Spreedly's key (provided below) to access the server. If you have no process in place today, Spreedly will set up their own SFTP - please provide Spreedly your public key so they can spin up a new server and encrypt credentials for you.

When the export is ready, please provide the information to my Workspace Management Software Provider, Deskworks, which uses Spreedly for vaulting, to support@mydeskworks.com and reference my merchant name. They will provide the rest of the required details to Spreedly.

Here is Spreedly's public key, which you can use to encrypt the export: https://developer.spreedly.com/docs/importing-payment-methods#pgp
