Offer special deals to new members by creating discount codes they can enter during self-registration — or that your team can apply when registering new members manually.
First, check if the Discount Codes tool is enabled:
Go to INVENTORY in your Deskworks menu.
- Look for the DISCOUNT CODES tab.
- If you don’t see it:
- Go to SETUP > TASKS.
- Click Add (+) to create a new Task.
- Enter “discount-codes” as the Task URL.

Create a New Discount Code
1. From the Discount Codes page, click Add (+).
2. Next, fill out the following fields:
Discount Code
Enter the exact code to be entered during registration.
Example: If your promotion says “Enter Discount Code WELCOME10 at registration," type "WELCOME10" in this field.
Type
Choose one from the drop-down menu:
- $ Dollar amount discount
- % Percentage discount
Description
Add a short, public-facing description. This shows what the discount applies to on the user’s order.
Amount
Enter the discount value (i.e. the amount to deduct).
Tip: Do NOT enter the final discounted price — only the discount amount.
Example: For a $100 product you want to discount to $75, enter $25.
Months
Set how many months the discount should apply.
- Use 1 for a one-time discount.
- Or specify the number of months (e.g., 3, 6, 12).
Note: Recurring discounts will be set up in recurring billing automatically.
Start Date and End Date
Define the valid date range for using the code.
Example: If you set Start Date: Sept 1, 2025 and End Date: Sept 30, 2025 the code works only if entered between those dates. If the code is entered on Oct 1, 2025 the user would receive an error stating that the code is no longer valid.
Apply To
Choose which Membership Products the code applies to:
- By default, it applies to All Memberships.
- To limit it, click the plus (+) icon to select specific memberships.
- Keep clicking plus (+) to add more memberships as needed.
How to Use Discount Codes
For Self-Registering Members
- During the online self-registration process, members enter the Discount Code on Step 3 (the Confirm and Payment page).
- After typing the code in the Discount Code field, they must click APPLY.
- If valid, the discount is immediately applied to their order total.
For Admins Registering New Members
- When registering a new member manually, go to MEMBERS > REGISTER NEW MEMBER.
- Enter the Discount Code in the "Discount Code" field located in the MEMBERSHIP section.
- The discount will be automatically applied to the member’s first invoice.
